Review : Meet Me at World's End by Priden Queen

Meet Me at World's End starts off with meeting Sienna and her supposed husband Declan, in a world where supernatural beings exist. Sienna has recently woken up from a coma, and has since lost her memories of her past. Sienna doesn't trust the people's she with and she knows Declan isn't happy that she's pregnant too. As she is trying to find out more of her past, zombies are taking over the world, and people with abilities are appearing, including herself. As she's reunited with people who actually know her, she can't be the person she once was, and is trying to live in the present and with her actual husband.

I liked Sienna from the start, she's a cool chick, who knows that something is suspicious with the people  who are caring for her, while trying to find out who she really is. She is very strategic and her ability to see auras around her, including objects, makes her a great asset when others find her pregnancy a liability. Sienna is a person who takes no crap, and she’s just someone trying to survive, even if that means killing to get her and her baby safe. She’s a very realistic portrayal of someone who’s gunning to survive in whatever means necessary, and when Liam comes in, she takes advantage of him, while slowly falling for her real husband.

Now I want to get to the hero, Liam West. Once a businessman, now just any civilian, trying to find his wife. Once he’s found her, he doesn’t let go, he gets very protective of her but to him, Sienna ‘Angel’ West is the means to everything to him. He has mysterious powers of his own that helps wandering people and his own community, of which he eventually created to keep Sienna safe. There’s alot about him that were told, but we see his personality is not to be messed with, especially with his impeccable powers. He is the greatest means for Sienna to survive.

I also like the secondary characters, Hiroki and Ayaka, two bad-ass Japanese bodyguards that protect Liam and Sienna, respectively. They have a duty to do even in this world changing event, and Liam and Sienna make some enemies that follow through. Some other characters with powers help them in their journey and overall, they have some friends and backup to guide them along the way. Probably the only dislike in the book, would be all these girls that are jealous of Sienna, and try to manipulate her. They have this similar mindset of her and think she’s using Liam, and pretending to be his wife. It’s very odd and I don’t even know if it was really necessary, unless it’s going to lead up into the next book, but I'll just have to wait and see.

I also like the world in general, as we've seen some zombies and apocalypse scenarios but to add in superheroes too, that made me excited to see how their abilities will help with one another. The writing is good overall and the author tries to help the readers understand what is going through Sienna's head as she encounters more enemies and allies. It's a trilogy but the its fast-paced with action and romance thrown in, a quick and interesting read.

I really enjoyed this book, I actually had to stop a few times, as I didn’t want it too end to fast, until I heard there’s a sequel. I’m excited to read the next installment, and what’s going to happen to Sienna and Liam, as new enemies emerge to disrupt the newly reunited family.

Romance Rating : 4

Sienna and Liam are pretty cute together and although she has no real recollection of him, she tries her best to keep situation in the here and now, so he doesn't confuse who she was to the kind of spitfire she is now. It’s a slow rekindling of their romance, and whenever he comes through for her, she does the same for him, even when she doesn’t know her feelings even till the end.

If you like people with superpowers and a girl with something left to lose, please give this book a chance. I like the concept and the mystery of everything that's going on, a refreshing look on zombies and what it means to rely on someone you think you know.
